An Irish creative country girl met a nerdy South African surfer, online during lockdown ...and decided to live happily ever after.
2020
Striking gold in corona
After a couple of days of messaging online, Rochelle was convinced by a phone call and SA accent to meet. Thankfully bars were open for a couple of weeks before lockdowns set in again so we met at Angie's Cocktail bar. After this our love of home cooking and hours of chatting got us through the lockdowns.
2021
Is this serious?
Taking advantage of work-from-anywhere policy we took the plunge on our first trip together to Spain. After that things got serious we moved in together and attended Laura and Tim's wedding in Italy and Rochelle Visited SA for the first time.
2022
A challenging year with new jobs
Rochelle turned 30 and took a job in crypto (we still don't know why). Paul started as a data engineer and held down the fort at home keeping Rochelle sane. All while we dreamt of escaping to travel the world.
2023
A year of dreams and Adventure
After deciding against becoming digital nomads, Rochelle found her dream job at Miro.
We used our world trip savings to holiday as much as possible and visited 8 different countries. Including our spectacular trip to the Philippines.
2024
He put a ring on it
After a long hike up Mount Rochelle in Franschhoek, South Africa, Paul got down on one knee and between the tears Rochelle said 'Of course', who else would I travel to the end of the world with?
